Apulia and Porto Portugal
We rented a small house at the Atlantic cost. An old remodeled fishing cabin. Just north of the small fishing village, Apulia, about 40 minutes north of Porto. We had the best view. Just the ocean.
Our view.
Beach life. Lazy days. A beautiful beach but a bit too cold in the water for me.
Our cabin for a week. The round one.
Simple life in Apulia. Fresh fruits and vegetables from the local market and fish from the morning fish market. Just a 5 minute walk from our cabin we had many fish restaurants to choose from. They all had similar menus, fresh fish and seafood. Most dishes were served with boiled potatoes and cabbage. Our favorite restaurants ended up being Mudo and Cabana. They all had a great selection of local wine from for example the Douro area.
We spent one day in Porto. A charming city. Friendly. In love with all the tile covered houses.
The cathedral, Sé.
Sao Bento, the most beautiful train station.
Lunch at Majestic Café. Classic interior.
Charming small streets in the Ribeira neighbourhood by the Douro river.
Many great shops in Porto. Avida Portuguesa, Mercado, and the bookstore Note to mention a few.
7 relaxing days. 7 sunsets. Love Portugal.
