Öland Sweden

One day roadtrip on the second largest island in Sweden, Öland, surrounded by the Baltic Sea. From north to south of Öland it´s only 137 km so we made it in one day. We started driving south after the bridge on the west coast to Stora Alvaret in the south with its dramatic flat landscape.

One of many ancient remains from the Viking age on Öland.

Ceramics from Paradisverkstan.

They say that there are about 300 windmills on the island. We lost count after a few…

We drove the east coast back to the center of the island and stoped for lunch at the fishing village Bläsinge.

The old castle just south of the largest town, Borgholm.

Heading to the north of the island we drove this beautiful small coastal road on the west coast, Kustvägen.

We had great burgers at Kalk in Löttorp.

We stoped at many beautiful places along the coast. Next time we hope we can find a cabin for rent and stay longer and enjoy Ölands great beaches. It´s a charming island with many fantastic places.
