Bali Ubud Indonesia
We stayed 15 min by car north of Ubud. Close to Tegallalang, DD Ubud Jungle Villas. Great place to stay. We had our own cabin with beautiful jungle view. 70 stairs to the the reception. Great exercise in the heat! Breakfast was served on our porch. Any other meal too if wanted. Peaceful dinner with all the sounds of the jungle. Friendly staff and a refreshing pool. They have a free shuttle to Ubud two times a day. We liked the country side outside of Ubud better that the actual Ubud. Ubud had a great market though and the monkey forest!
Tegallalang Rice Terrace. Best to visit early morning before the crowd arrives. A popular sight.
Pura Tirta Empul. A spring temple, that is dated from the 10th century, with holy water.
Another temple. Many temples in Bali.! Many houses also got their own temple.
Ubud area has many talented craftsmen. The closest village to our villa is known for woodcarvings. Lovely work.
A dead, very poisoned, green tree snake or a leaf? Don’t know. Cannot be too careful in the jungle…
Mount Agung. 40 km away. The active volcano stayed calm during our stay.
Monkey Forest Sanctuary. Beautiful park with old temples and statues. And full of monkeys!
They did go a bit crazy! You have to be very careful with your belongings…
A jungle swing!
Drying rice beside the roads.
Leaving beautiful Ubud area and heading for Lombok! Should have stayed longer to explore the landscape and lakes in the north of Bali. Next time…! Loved our days here.
