First stop, Sanibel Island on the West coast of the Gulf of Mexico. Sanibel is a small island and is famous for beautiful beaches and seashells! We stayed at Sanibel Island Beach Resort.
Hurricane Helene was on its way, and we left the quiet Sanibel Island, driving through the Everglades to Miami.

Daytrip to the Florida Keys. A stop at Sombrero Beach and then Key West all the way in the south.
We had a great time in Florida. A couple of dramatic days due to Hurricane Helene, but after a lot of rain and wind, the sun came back! Glad that we got to experience both the East and the West coast, the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic.
